Watch: Breaking Down the RWD BMW-V8-Powered Mk3 Golf Build

Late last year, we shared a video of the completion of a Mk3 Golf that had had a V8 from a 5 Series BMW swapped into it.

That video mostly looked at the car in its current state, though. And while much of the build had been tracked through videos, there was no concise wrap up of the build. Enter: Donut Media.

In a 10 minute video published last week, the Frankenwagen gets the full Bumper2Bumper treatment.

And this is a personal episode, too, because the host actually used to work with the car’s owner, Mike Day. That means that he rode in the car back when it was just a ’98 Mk3 with a VR6.

Since then, it was all but abandoned and left to rot, before being repurchased fro $200. It then had the V8 from Day’s other drift car, the aforementioned 5 Series hand-me-downed to it, and became the excellent piece of diverse German engineering you see.
