Watch: This Stage 1 RS3 Runs a 10-Second Quarter Mile

With 400 hp from a 2.5L five-cylinder and quattro all-wheel drive, the Audi RS3 is quick right out of the box. But as always, aftermarket tuners can always make a little bit more than could fit in that box.

This is APR’s Stage 1 RS3 sedan. It ran a couple of times with different setups, but the fastest came after the APR guys pulled some seats and threw in some ethanol. So how quick can a mostly stock RS go?

How about 10.55 seconds at 127 mph in the quarter-mile. That’s faster than a stock R8 V10 Plus manages with 610 hp. That should give you a rough idea of just how much this RS3 is making. Even on 93 octane, though, the RS3 with the Stage 1 tune ran in the low 11.1s.

And it’s not just a rocket ship, either. APR took their RS3 for a few laps around Road Atlanta with nothing more than the tune and 93 octane gas and it did a 1:39.1 in the dry. That’s only ten seconds off race pace for the Riley Motorsports – WeatherTech Racing Porsche 911 GT3 at the Motul Petit Le Mans.

“Most production street cars I’ve tested almost always show their weak points within 5-10 laps of any high performance track event,” said driver Ian Baas. “The RS3 Sedan excelled during the entire test and I am sure this product will perform flawlessly in street conditions as it sits currently!”
