I was going to go with a 2016 GTI se with lighting pkg. But now I'm leaning towards a 2016 GLI Jetta. Other than the obvious USB port are there any other differences from the 2016 to the 2015. Save $$$ buying the 15.
Thanks for the info.OP - I would get an SEL with the bi-xenon headlights whichever year you go with.

Yes discounts are good if you can find the cars. The 2015 was used with 8000 miles. Are you talking new I assume? I would imagine they're discounted about the same now that the '17s have arrived.

Or instead of paying a $2,500 premium for the headlights and navigation- which everyone has on their phone and is a standard feature of the Android auto/Apple car play on the 2016- if you really want you can swap out to any headlights you like aftermarket for $500-$800. Life-hack. [emoji6]OP - I would get an SEL with the bi-xenon headlights whichever year you go with.

The aftermarket lights are not even close. The bi-xenon which come from factory swivel with the steering , have cornering function and are widely considered among the best on the market.Or instead of paying a $2,500 premium for the headlights and navigation- which everyone has on their phone and is a standard feature of the Android auto/Apple car play on the 2016- if you really want you can swap out to any headlights you like aftermarket for $500-$800. OK maybe but is that worth $2,500? I'm guessing not to most people if they're being honest. The aftermarket lights are not even close. The bi-xenon which come from factory swivel with the steering , have cornering function and are widely considered among the best on the market.

Not sure about US, but in Canada, you also get 18" Mallory wheels over 17", sunroof, fender plus navigation. So yes, it was totally worth the $ to me.OK maybe but is that worth $2,500? I'm guessing not to most people if they're being honest.

It's only $2500 if you pay MSRP, which I really hope nobody is doing on a Volkswagen. Aftermarket lights are not close either.OK maybe but is that worth $2,500? I'm guessing not to most people if they're being honest.

This is a fail. 2,500 is a steal. The SEL lights on my wife's GLI are better than my Audi's. Just one headlight assembly is 1495 on VW let's. If you wanted OEM BiXenons it would cost 3500. The bulbs are $195 each! They turn with your steering wheel and the cornering lights are my favorite. Don't think for a second you can buy some cheap helix headlights and get the same result. Yep. One of those deals where once you got them - you can't imagine life without them. Not in the same class as your Audi, but the VW Bi-Xenons are light years ahead of the HIDs that were on my Charger and Shelby (which I thought were good at the time). The daytime running lights are also very elegant. Makes the car look much classier than a VW should. This is a fail. 2,500 is a steal. The SEL lights on my wife's GLI are better than my Audi's. I agree. It really is the best $2,500 you could spend on a trim level in 2015...Yep. One of those deals where once you got them - you can't imagine life without them.
