my car takes for ever to start and if i dont give it gas it will just keep turning battery or fuel pump and how involved is changing the fuel pump?

if it`s an 87 16v like it says in your sig,then the one in the tank is just the transfer pump.The main pump is under the passenger side door towards the back(and NOT a ten minute job!)Depending on how rusty and coroded everything is.It`s mostly getting the lines broke free I guess.Good luck.

Sounds like one of the pumps...how's your gas filter lookin'? Been changed lately? or injectors cleaned and spraying properly?
How's it run once started?

If you turn the key and hear no faint "Buzz" (with stereo off

) then it's likely the pump...although I've had issues with the relay in my rocco past
