Hey guys, I have a vacuum leak going from the backside of the intake manifold, and I have no idea where the hose for it should be leading to. I do know that the part for it isn't available from VW, but it's been long enough since I had checked I forgot all the details. It comes off the backside of the intake manifold right behind the throttle. So. If any of you know where this should be connected to and what size of hose I need for this, that'd be awesome. Thanks!

For future reference, there is usually a color coded vacuum hose diagram in the engine compartment from when the car was built. It's normally on the inside of the hood.

Sometimes they are elsewhere like on the radiator support. My C is in storage so I can't go look + it's a VR6.

Your diagram could be missing if a previous owner removed it or put on a carbon fiber hood.

Knot a piece of piano wire from the hex end of the screw and attach it somewhere easily accessible in the bay. The next time it pops out all you have to do is follow the string. The part is obsolete however BBM is making their own version for us. Thanks Johnny!!!

BTW it will take a bit of force to start the thread inside the t/b because it has a new new o ring. A socket will have to be used in order to get the leverage for starting that first thread. Since you're inserting the screw facing backwards, don't forget it's the opposite of righty tighty, lefty loosey. Lastly plan the install to be completed on a cool motor unless you're into seared flesh tattoos.
