Update time. Felt tape wrapped most of my dash harness
Image
OEM+ lol. Then I ran all of the wiring for my sub and battery relocation to the trunk
Image

Installed my front 3 point belts and started to put the rear of the interior back together.
Image
. I think I might keep the stool seat. Nice mod right? Hahaha.

I started to lay out where I wanted my sub and battery at.
Image
I love how the sub fits.

After the interior is all done I have to figure out how the **** I am going to mount this thing.

Got the dash finally all back together. What a difference! I think I cleaned every little part of this dash. Looks fresh from the factory
Image

I still have to clean the actual dash part though. Lol

Does anybody know of any protectant to prevent cracking. Some uv protector ****??? I really wish vw didn't make these dashes so brittle from the factory.

I almost like your wheels the color they came with.
Yeah the these dashes must be made similar to the square body Chevy trucks, they seem to crack the same way. Some base model Golfs in Europe came with hard plastic dashes instead of the "softer" ones. I've seen some run those carpet dash covers I've thought about using one of those but it will end up being a dust trap in my jetta.

Yea I've heard about the plastic ones. I wonder how they look. The previous owner had dash carpet and I couldn't ****ing stand it. Lol. I'm on the fence about the powder coating too. I don't know just yet. I have a powder coater at work so it's pretty cheap to do. Here is a test fit without the spacers

When I get the spacers and the stud conversion kit. Ordered them Sunday should see them this week. The car isn't even on the road yet lol. It's getting there though. Somebody recommended going gold. Once I get them all mounted I'll post pictures and then maybe someone could do some photo shot editing for me. Are you in the tri state area? Maybe I'll see you at some shows. I know I'm not going to be able to make all of them since I work Saturdays but I'll try to make the big ones. When I had my last Mk2 I never even mad it to one show :( I'm not letting that happen to Bella.

Very cool man. I'd be interested to see how gold looks also. I have actually never been out that way myself I'm in good old Illinois. I actually just picked up my mk2 Gti in October and in November put in storage for winter so I'm dying for spring. Hopefully I will also get to a few shows mine is no where near this clean I actually picked it up more for an auto x car but I really love driving it so we will see where that leads. I also have the dilemma of which car to buy parts for because my daily driver is an mk7 GTI.

Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the kind words buddy! It feels nice someone watching your thread. Sometimes I feel like I am just talking to myself because nobody responds to my posts.

The Jetta coupe is clean but it needs allot of detailing and it could use a respray and sent repair. Structurally it's super sound. I'm slowly bringing it back to showroom condition without breaking the bank. This car is nothing like my 16v gti was though. I miss that car soo much. I had that car when I didn't really know what it was and what modifications it had to it! I had all of the service records for it too since it was new! I was such a ****ing idiot for getting rid of it. I actually tried to find it to buy it back but no luck :(

When I worked at a Audi dealership I almost bought a mk7 gti. Such a great platform to mod. Vw knocked it out of the park on that one. I really want a r but I have nowhere the amount to afford one. To make a evo 9 500 hp your spending around 10k for a built motor and you can make a golf r 500hp on a stock longblock! Crazy what direct injection and a cylinder head mounted turbo can do.

Mk2 vw's have a certain charm that no other vw's can replicate though.

Haha I will definitely keep checking back to see how sick this turns out. Hopefully start my own eventually.

That's a huge bummer selling the 16v! But it happens would have been cool to find it.

On the mk7 I could not agree more I love that car as well it's definitely a perfect daily/fun car. It's pretty stock though as I am being a Sally and don't want to void the warranty. Another reason the mk2 was picked up. Once I drive the wheels off this I definitely want to try and get in an R/S3 but we will see how that goes the wifey wants a bigger house lol

Converted to studs and put the spacers on and wheels.
Image
. 8mm spacer up front, 15mm spacer in the rear. I'm really happy on the look / fitment overall. I could go lower but then I would have to change my suspension and start modifying my fender flairs. I want to keep the drivability as best as possible since I will be driving this daily.

I was able to squeeze a couple more hours of work on Bella after work today.

First thing I did was re install my recaro seats with all new rail guides. Oh how much I have missed these seats. I haven't had these seats in my car for like two months. Hahaha. I still have to deep clean the seats but I think they fit right at home.

I was given this bud light tap handle and I thought I might re tap the threads and use it as a show shifter. And thoughts? All that comes to mind is to have as much blue as I can. Hahaha.

The gauges look like ****. Just something temporary.

I found this website in Germany that makes these awesome digital gauges. Anybody have them in the U.S? Are they any good?

Image

Then I removed the muffler from the 3" v banded exhaust to see what it would sound like. I dig. I now have to fab up a tip and the exhaust is done.

When I got home there was a package awaiting for me :)

Great quality from MOMO. Now I just have to wait for the steering wheel to arrive from Europe...

So allot of people are telling me to go "more low"... I'm thinking about it. What are the best coilovers for the buck? I was thinking maybe raceland primo coilovers.

.

Anybody running these here on the forum?

Almost ready to register Bella for the road. I can't wait to be back in a mk2 :)
