Re: (JettaJigga9)

Chip 699+ or -
Exhaust - 350 + or - for a cat back and about 700-900 for a turbo back
(don't go smaller than 2.5'')
Intake (some say its helpful some say it sucks)
Lowering - sport shocks and springs 600 full coils about 1200
(H&R, KW, Weitec -- NO HP here but def worth it)

Re: (Vdub12)

You can take your resinator off and just pipe it..it wont cost more than 30 bucks at a muffler shop. you can also pull the cat off and get piping but then your check engine light wil come on and it wont pass smog.

Re: Any extra hp for a 1.8t with out brakeing my wallet. (luiscarreon)

upsolute chip = $350 (great power gains)
upgraded DV = $40-150 (Bosch 710N is $40...some aftermarket ones are $150)
NGK BKR7E plugs = $2 each (for after you get the new chip)
tires = $90-150 each
Silverstar 9007 headlight bulbs = $20-25 each
euro headlight switch = $35-90 depending on where you get it
drop in K&N air filter = $50

diode = .75 cents
3in dp = 175 bucks
diy cold air = 15 bucks
end result = 185-195 whp / 195+ lb. ft. tq.

using the accepted 15% drivetrain loss, you are saying this guy can go from 180 HP to 229 HP at the flywheel for less than $200.
what kind of bad crack are you smoking? most people are lucky to hit 229 HP at the flywheel with APR 93 octane and a 2.5 inch downpipe
