Who still makes a decent G60 chip/tune? I need one for my 16vG60. I've given up on BBM after they sent me two DOA chips and have been unresponsive for 2 weeks now. Can you still get SNS chips?

Thanks!

the username b4s on this forums had a pdf of 6 pages floatating the net.
basically you take a factory vw obd1 aba ecm and harness swap.
you install it on your car.
put a wide band oxygen sensor for tunning.
get a laptop based program called ostrich 2.0.

and what it does is crack open the tables for mapping.

you have turned the obd1 aba ecm into a programable unit much like megasquirt but with the added benefits of plug and play. no harness building.
better than bbm , you still retain on board capabilities.
and you do not need a new chip everytime you tweak something under the hood.

this is the way i will run mine when i do get around to pulling the dead reliable cis-e motronic on my passat.

That is the equivalent of scratching your left ear with your right hand wraped behind your leg and back when it was actually your right ear that was itching you....

I would NEVER recommend swaping Digi-1 to an ABA harness & ECU.

Why?
  1. You will need a G60 throttle body with a TPS at minimum. ($150-$200)
  2. You will need to convert your crankshaft pulley to have an external crankshaft trigger to match the 60-2 wheel on the ABA crankshaft ($300+)
  3. You will need to tap the intake manifold somewhere for an IAT
  4. You will need to add a MAF to your G60 inlet track. If you are on an OEM airbox forget it.
what a nightmare....

Chips are a waste of time and a thing of the past but if you must yes Fast Lane is the go to place.
There are companies now that make PLUG AND PLAY Standalone systems that plug right into your Digi-I harness. No unnecessary cutting , splicing or making parts work. Simply unplug harness , plug in K-TECH system (based on MS&S) , wire in 02 and run a clean line for the onboard MAP and you are good. Tune away via com port.

I can make tunes for any of the older vw ecm. cis motronic, digi 1&2, obd1, obd2. G60, ABA, AHU, gas/diesel ect... I have lots of tune files for lots of different combos (8v, 16v, turbo, supercharged, hybrid engines ect) or can tune it to the hardware you have.
There pretty easy to learn how to do on your own as well. Ecu connections has lots of good info, Brendan b4s, has made a bunch of good write ups, also I can help with questions.
Im not on the forums very much, so shoot me an email

A little late to the party I know, however SNS Tuning is still making chips as far as I know I purchased one from Bilal on their webpage just last year. The communication and shipping did take a little longer as Bilal creates and sells the chips as a side job, but it is well worth the wait believe me. I tried at least 3 other well known manufactures and nothing has come close. the anti Digi-lag on the SNS chip is totally awesome. My vote is for SNS Tuning all day.
