As someone very close to buying a hot hatch Ford, I won't buy another if they continue this trend with their passenger cars. Ford is also notorious for letting cars rot on the vine (original Focus and 4th gen Taurus most obvious examples), and gas prices have been creeping up after bottoming out in late 2014. Extremely shortsighted move. It's easy to scapegoat Trump, but Ford was probably going to discontinue the Fiesta, the Fusion and certainly the Taurus anyway regardless of the current state of politics, and basing your medium and long term business decisions on short-term political cycles (and gambling on 45 capping or lowering CAFE standards) is plain dumb.

Wow looks very athletic like a better looking bmw 2 series:thumbup::thumbup:
Right on although I'd say 1-series. Look at the rear of a new 1 then look at this and it's way better than the BMW. Like others I'll say shame the ST isn't coming here because with these cleaner lines it now looks more appealing than a GTI.

Looks like a nice improvement styling wise over the current ST model and a big improvement on the interior.

Shame we won't see it here in the US but it was fun while it lasted. The ST was the only reason I even considered Ford during my last new car purchase.

Old thread but how is this gen Focus for driving? Lately I see many of them and I find them very stylish in sedan and station wagon form.

Strange that the sedan and the station wagon both look better to me than the hatch.

I only like the ST from the hatched but regular spec hatch versions look too meh specifically from the sides and rear.

I've seen low to mid spec versions of all 3 body styles.

With every previous generation Focus I found the sedans and wagons worse-looking than the hatch versions and still do but this now is a Mazda 3 Mk1 or Impreza Mk3 situation for me.

BTW this might be the last Focus for Europe as SUVs and crossovers sell better rhan hatches and sedans now even here. The Puma outsells the Fiesta which will be cancelled in 2023. The Focus will be cancelled in 2024 or 2025, marking the end of the classical Ford sedans/hatchbacks. At least the sedan is the only Focus sedan so far to look nice. It must be around the Mk1 Mondeo sized by now so it's lime its spiritual successor.

You could argue crossovers and SUVs are lifted hatches or statikn wagons but to me they feel different. I like them and driveone but will miss classical hatches and especially sedans and 2 door coupes.
