If I buy a newish used VW, do I get the remaining factory warrantee?
I bought my current GTI CPO, and that warrantee has come in useful. I'm considering replacing it with a more recent used GTI (keeping an eye out for a '03 Silverstone VR6

). I just want to know that if I get one, I get some sort of coverage.

My wife just brought an 02 Jetta home. However the jackass who sold it to her also sold her a warranty. I'm off to Vegas this weekend to get my $810 back. VW needs to enforce some sales standards, before I have to get violent. This was a straight up ripping off of a customer. He told her it covered services, However it clearly reads on the back that it doesn't. Its an identical of the manufacturers warranty. Good way to try to kill a VW customer from wanting to buy another VW/Audi.

I can deal with the dealers being substandard. But that not withstanding, the basic question remains. Is the factory warrantee transferrable?

Re: Is the VW new car warrantee transferrable? (BBMW)

When I called yesterday and talked to VWOA, they said all the original warranties apply to our purchase, roadside assistance too. The problem I have is that its supposed to be a Certified Pre Owned car with gives us 2/24000 extra. They don't have it in their system yet and there isn't any paperwork on it from the dealer. VWOA said its not in their system yet because we haven't registered the car at the DMV yet, why that matters, who know. There should still be documentation somewhere that its been certified. So I have to keep riding until its proven that its a CPO car. I have read on here before where dealers have sold CPO cars that weren't really certified, and customers not knowing until the original warranty expired and then its too late. You can call them and ask them questions. I gave them the VIN number for all the details on my car. General questions may not require it.

Is the factory warrantee transferrable?

Yes, but it gets cut in half, at least the Powertrain does. Check with VWoA 800-822-8987 or 800-411-6688 on the Bumper to Bumper, but I know when I bought my car used the original 10/100 was cut down to 5/50.

2002-3. Basically any car that's still inside the new car warrantee period.

Yes, what do you mean by "NEWISH"?
