Looks like a good sized gap check for tearing at the bushing under the metal retainer on top

I wouldn’t recommend a set of coil overs that’s impossible to warranty if there are issues I would go with a known brand like
Www.raceland.com or some of the sets on www.ecstuning.com
Better to spend a little more for good quality parts that will perform well

Belive it or not it was designed this way. Except for addition wear from the bushing. When I did mine I installed a powerflex 10mm lowering bushing. It comes with a poly bushing for the top. Which effectively fills that gap. It really does a lot to improve the quality of the handling to not have the strut bouncing around. You can also size out some neuprine washers to fill that gap as well. The improvement to handing is worth the cost of the kit imo. https://www.amazon.com/PowerFlex-PFF85-431-Polyurethane-Bushings-Lowering/dp/B01DE4V3FE

I saw a few of those mentioned in diy vids was wondering about that, thank you. Will be looking into this area of ride more once I get her on the road and deem the car worthy of more $$$ upgrades. Thanks
