Both the TPMS and cruise on my 17 Alltrack are not working. I recently replaced the wheels and tires with aftermarket parts. I was told there were not any sensors in the stock tires so TPMS should work fine....? The only other mods on the car are an injen throttle controller and a neuspeed power module. Both which seem to work fine. Before I take it in somewhere.....any ideas? Thanks

When you change wheels/tires you have to reset the TPMS, which works by monitoring wheel speed by the ABS speed sensors. In your radio, go in the CAR menu, find the tire pressure monitor and after making sure your tire pressures are OK reset it. Usually if the car finds that the wheel speeds are not ok (which means a tire is low), you should have a warning in the gauge cluster...

I don't know if this impacts the cruise.

I’ve only have 5,800 miles on my 2017 Alltrack, but after hitting a bad pot hole around 5,000 miles I had a four wheel alignment and my tires rotated front to rear. On the way to Daytona (about 25 miles away), I got a low tire warning. I stopped at a gas station and checked my tire pressures, all was ok. I reset the TPMS via the cabin display and all has been fine since then. Even after the TPMS light came on, my ACC still worked ok. So I’m not sure that the two problems are related.

TPMS: I reset the TPMS after I had the new wheels and tires put on through the car info section of the radio. When I did it nothing happened, once I pressed the reset button the screen didnt change at all, no psi readings came up, "no reset confirmed" notification, nothing...it will still let me go to that screen and press the reset button over and over. I realize there would be no psi readings because there is no sensors in the tires but I assumed it was having a problem working for some reason because of the little to no response or acknowledgement after I reset it.... I dont have a low tire warning or any warnings in the gauge cluster for that matter. Soooo... that means everything is ok with it???

Adaptive Cruise: Now with the cruise when I turn it on I just get a little picture of a speedometer icon with a slash through it and exclamation point and it just doesnt work... I guess I kind of assumed it was also related to the tires and wheel change somehow because it stopped working soon after I had them put on.

Thanks for the responses.

So, what did the OM indicate the response would be when you do a reset? Did you even read that OM section?

I believe the TPMS works as you describe, nothing changes in the display. All the reset function does is tell the car that it should recalibrate the system for awhile while driving because something has changed, such as changing tires. That is; tells the car to count the rotations of all four wheels over a fixed distance and set that as a standard. Once the standard is set, then count the rotations as you drive and compare them to the standard. If the differences are significant, illuminate the low tire light on the dash. It took about 20 miles of my rotating the tires for the light to come on.

Yeah that's how the TPMS system works. The "set" button is essentially just a reset of the memory so there's nothing keeping it from being pressed many times.

Do you have traction control disabled? Any CELs? Pretty sure both will keep ACC from working.

No, There are no lights at all on my dash, CELs are check engine lights correct? Nothing like that...traction control is on. The only response I get is when I press the cruise button and it briefly says ACC not available and then the icon with the exclamation point comes up and replaces the odometer.... I guess I can check my brake lights but I would think there would be a dash warning as well. Would an OB eleven tell me what the problem is? I have one, but havent used it much so I am not really sure where to look on it.

Living in Florida, we often get total downpours. A couple of times during those strong storms I’ve gotten the same “ACC not available.” As soon as the rain lets up, it again works ok. I assumed that it was because the front sensor was fooled by the heavy rain. At times I’ve also gotten “parking” warnings from the parking sensors, while nothing was near me. Also probably due to the heavy rains.

That said, I would inspect your front radar sensor to see if it is damaged. Maybe it got knocked out of alignment when you changed your wheels. I don’t know if there is DIY procedures to calibrate it. It may take a trip to the dealer to do that.
