2018 Tiguan SEL Premium went past the warranty mileage so I traded it for a 2022 SEL R. Can cross street names still be displayed in Navigation? Is a default size map option available or do I zoom every time?

Had a user name and password in 2018, now forgotten.

If you figure this out, please post the solution.
I've had my 21 SEL P Rline for over a year and haven't figured out how, so I use WAZE.
Hell, I even asked the salesman at our local dealer. He was clueless.

VW probably buys the map software package from a third party, Maybe this disappeared in a cost reduction or the lawyers don't want users to have a complete map available.

I just so happen to live near the intersection of two of the most traveled highways in the country.
I-70 and I-75.
I was absolutely astounded that the VW map didn't label either of these major thoroughfares (it showed them as "larger" roads, but didn't number either.
This is why I use WAZE. Bonus, because it usually gives fairly accurate information concerning law enforcement being nearby.
It only shows the map in the infotainment screen, but gives turn info in the main cluster...

Yes cross streets are still there. And to make it automatically zoom in all you have to do it press and hold the ok button to activate.

The VW nav systems aren't all that great. I have a similar problem in my 2016 GLI. This is just one of the reasons, I would suggest using CarPlay or AndroidAuto and using either their native map programs that are regularly updated by Apple and Google.

There are a few cross streets labeled at too high a zoom level. I want a half mile or more so I can anticipate the turn and know it's the third street on the left. My 2018's map was a generation ahead of this. I guess I'll use the phone unless an aftermarket program is available.

If you're going to use your phone, use Carplay or AndroidAuto as suggested above (I do).
Once you set up your phone with the car, every time you bring your phone (and bluetooth is on) it automatically connects.

Quick and simple.

I have the same issue. The default map when turn on each time zooms wAY out for me and I had to turn it everytime I get in my car (2022).
