It seems that all I see are 4-door Golfs - and especially since the only Golfs being made are the sporty GTI or R, there should be 2-door bodies.
Is it possible to get a 2-door Golf these days?

Brand new in the US? No. They got rid of the 2-door back in like 2017 or so I think. Not sure if they sell them in Canada. Might in Europe.
I have a 4-door GTI and I love it. I had a 2-door mk4 GTI and it was fine, but carrying things/people in the backseat was just a bit of a hassle. I do like the look of the 2 door, but I love the practicality of having the power and fun of a GTI with 4-doors.

AFAIK there hasn't been a 2 door Golf/Gti/.:R since the mk6 platform here in the US.

There are definitely early mk7 2-door GTIs.
Little bro got one of the last 2-door GTIs for MY 2016. I'm sure it wasn't literally one of the final production units but it definitely was one of the last '16s I ever saw around Unfortunately, it died a horrible death last summer/fall due to someone running a stop sign. But like they ^^^ said, you can still find good used Mk7s out there.

Thanks, I'd forgotten there were some still available early in the mk7 series. I'll admit after the mk5 generation (ugliest Vw ever) and the death of the VR6 in R32's, I stopped caring about new Vws.

The MKV was introduced with the 2.5 liter in 150hp tune. It had some character. If you are tall a MKV offers unusually good headroom and stop light visibility.
