Well I have a 2018 Alltrack SEL and love it. It's actually my second since I totaled my 17. I've add a few things here n there. But last fall I was texting while driving and hit a curb! This f@#$ed up my factory rim of course. I decided to just grab a refurbished wheel for a lot less but I wanted to make sure I didn't make this $$ mistake again.

So I've seen these advertised on TV and said for $130 it's worth a try. Not saying these AlloyGators will keep your rims 100% safe but there more than nothing. So I took a day off from working on my 67 porsche and spent the day installing these rim guards. You can install them with the wheels on the car but I had other plans so I removed them.

Next I got some DipYourCar paint and proceeded to black out my wheels.

So for less than 200 bucks I think it's a nice change. I've got to mask off the rest of the silver body trim and dip it as well.

Those are quite popular where I live. Was thinking about getting them on my red Alltrack, but never did. Glad to finally see what it would look like though 👍

How do you install those? 3M tape or are they squished between the tire and wheel?
Most have little tabs on them. You deflate your tires somewhat, stick the tabs in in-between the tire and rim and re-inflate the tires. There are probably other types with different installation methods, but those are the ones I've seen.
