Apparently there is a newer update - 1983. What it fixes I don't know - just thought I'd let y'all know.

I have to check into this. I am at 1969 on my '23 and 24. I just got a Car Fax email today and it says "Your Car has a recall" and:

Recall Status: Remedy Available

Recall Number: 91US INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM SOFTWARE

I got nothing on my '24, at least not yet. I am not sure how accurate the CarFax records are. I got the email with my selling dealer listed in the email. I have never had service there because they are too far away. I get my service at my local dealer. They did the update to 1969 on both of mine. I got no recall notice from CarFax with their name in it. I will check the MyVw app.

I checked the MyVW app. It does show that I need to do the recall update for the camera. I am on 1969. I will take it in.

I am guessing that has the camera fix, but I don't know for certain. I am recently on 1969 and I got a Car Fax warning for the recall which can also be seen in the MyVW App, but nothing has been flagged on my '24.

I don't seem to have this issue with my car even though I'm still on 1900 but from what I've read online, it is 1969 that supposedly fixes this but I haven't seen anything official in my hand yet so I'm not 100% on that.

Nothing shows up on my App but neither does the engine recall even though I've received the letter in regards to that one.

I am not really certain what to make out of the conflicting evidence, but this week I will show my service dept. the evidence and will have the update done if they will do it at no charge. If they will do it but suggest that I pay, I won't do it because I am on 1969 on both. It is my wife that needs upgrading. She is still on 1939 and still has that soundfield or Eq issue that we discussed. She is coming up on her 20K service soon. I will have them upgrade her software at that time.

I have not received a paper letter.

I do not think I have the camera issue, but it could have gone unnoticed by me.

I do not know if my wife got any kind of notification for hers. She usually does not find these things to be important. 🤣😱

I have a 24 380 S, no open recalls for me in MyVW.
I have a '24 380 and a '23 SE. So far, the only notifications are for the '23.

I took my 22 MT SE in for its 24 month service last Tuesday. They updated the infotainment software to 1969 as well as installing the engine cover as part of the two outstanding service campaigns. So I’m assuming that the 1969 update fixes the issue with rear view camera.

Sounds good, but I will kind of feel my service advisors out and see if I can get the one newer than that which has been mentioned.

Are there any S or 40AE models included here, if so does that mean there is an update for the base system? My 40AE camera acts up as described, but just like with the engine cover, my car seems to be excluded.
Since this is just a software update can technically anyone get it while at the dealer?

Just got my letter in the mail today. Not sure why the app here in Canada doesn't show these recalls - kinda defeats one of the key purposes of the app, but whatever.

Still haven't noticed any issues with the camera, but its all good - need the update for the EQ bug fix anyways (y)

We just got the recall letters for this (only for the '23 models) in the last few days. Nothing on my '24...yet, but I am up to 1969 on both of mine. My wife is on a previous version, the original one for the car. That will get updated shortly when it goes in for 20K service.

I asked my dealership about the updates. If it is part of a recall, or if you can express to them a service issue you have noted that could be caused by the car software, they will do it on their nickel. If you come to them and want to be updated, "just because", they will likely charge you. Be aware that from dealership to dealership, rules often get interpreted differently, so your experience could differ. Also, if you are a regular customer appearing at all of the service intervals, they might just update it and "kind of forget" that you wanted an elective update, then not charge you, you know, a regular customer courtesy.

My wife has said that she has noted camera lag in her car. I don't think I have.

Reading the remedy instructions of the recall from VW - it says the first step is to check if the infotainment system software is 1969 or higher, if it is, no update is required - if it is lower, then it needs to be updated to 1969 or higher. The base system in the S and US 40th runs a different software and there is no mention of it in the official VW remedy procedure, so I'd contact your dealership or VW directly.

I have a 40th as well, but in Canada, our 40ths have the upgraded infotainment system and mine is running 1900, so I got the recall notice.
