My point of view here is this: If Porsche takes away the manual, then what other non-manual sports vehicles/cars are out there that we should look at? From what I see, Lucid (and Cadillac) are the only two companies that can match Porsche dynamically at this level of performance.
Cadillac? Do you mean Corvette? IMO, Corvette has 911ed (can that be a verb?) their line up. There is something for everyone from a base $70k coupe to $200k insanity. RWD, AWD, Coupe, or HTC, electrified or not. 3 engine options, and widebody models! Do you want the fancy leather on the base car? ok. Do you want the base trim on the fastest car? ok. Of course it doesnt have the prestige, resale, but it does have pedigree, real performance, accessibility, and some of the same obnoxious owners ;)

I dunno. They already have a manual transmission that works with this engine. Even if the take rate is relatively low, there shouldn't be too much of a cost in offering the manual.
And maybe all of this is setting up another ridiculously expensive special edition manual car based on the S.
Whenever stuff like this happens at work, I tell people that is a perk and not a problem with the system. This forces manual people into either the “ pure” category of the T or go up market for the GT3. The S having a manual probably didn’t cost that much, but it also probably wasn’t making them very much.

They will then sell the special edition manual S and call it the best all around Carrera for street driving. The Sport Classic being absolute manual trim for those who want maximal speed and to row their own gears.

I'm looking forward to following along. I think someone else in TCL should buy one too.
When CPOs fall into the 50’s, I will probably make the jump. Or I may hold out for a few more years and get a 2025 CPO. I really think the big advancements of the new generation hurt values of the first. But just like the Panamera, the previous generation is probably still a really good driving car.

At least we aren't painting our houses Corvette colors.

That's the 992.1. No idea why its still on the US configurator but that's not in production anymore. The only 992.1 Turbo you can get right now is the 50 Years edition.
Good point. However, it's not just that it's on the configurator, but they still have all the regular pages to view all the details on the Turbo as if it's a regular car available for purchase. Note, the same holds true for the Porsche Canada page. Maybe they aren't bringing out the .2 Turbo until 2026?

Just you wait....if they get clued into the paint thing, Corvette owners start laminating little build sheets for their houses - "1 of 1, 4 bed/3 bath ranch style built on a Thursday in Michigan with rare green carpet option"

I know this is a funny ongoing joke but Porsche guys are all about these options and "rarity" and Ferrari even forces it from the factory. They bolt on the options plate under the hood now for every ferrari. Kinda ridiculous IMO

It will be a 26 MY for sure.

The Porsche market has been crazy for a few years and continues to be. 150k Carrera S' are the perfect example of that. My GT4 was 118k and I recently spoke to two local dealers about trading it in on a 992.2 GT3. One dealer was at 100k over MSRP and the other was at 75k but you also had to buy a Porsche Tag watch and have the dealership put a clear bra and ceramic coat the car. I told both dealers that after the massive price increase on the 992.2 and the ADM we're into used Ferrari money. They are amazing cars but at this point I'm seriously considering sending my GT4 to DeMan for a 4.5L conversion and calling it a day.
