Truthfully, I've never heard of anyone knowing the name...that is just my special nickname.
Maybe this also hints at them not being manufactured by BBS. But why would VW outsource to a different manufacturer for one wheel for one year?!

Honestly I didn't like 'em at first, but now they are my favorite stock MKIII wheel

I was gonna get some 5 spoke VR wheels but couldn't imagine gettin rid of 'em now...and yes they are BBS

I wanted to powdercoat them gold or bronze for a bit now, did a pshop of it and it looked pretty good. Despite this, or whatever else you do to them, the fact still remains IMO that these are just horribly ugly stockies.
