Re: (woofster)

I had an '90 SE 5 speed (3rd gen?) and an '02 GXE auto. Both were great cars, IMO, but the '90 was a lot of fun. No real problems up to 150,000 miles, too. Too close for me to vote, though.
My sister had an 84 back in the day, the one that talked to you. A much more sultry voice than the Chryslers back then, lol. Lot's of potential for driveline swaps in one of those, methinks.

Bwahjahahaaa!

All i know is Gen 6 is CRAAAAPPP!!! A sad and miserable failur of an attempt to play up the Passat's appeal.
Hahahaaaa

It is just a perfect, ugly example of what NOT to do. Sure to become a design study for autodesigners in training.

In your opinion ofcourse. In my opinion, it looks great inside and out. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

That may be YOUR opinion, but it is pretty well understood by most to be a direct ripoff of the Passat's design (and there are several), and a HORRIBLY executed interpretation at that.

Wow...troll much?
Anyway...the 5th generation is definetly the better looking of the 6 generations. Smooth and handsome.
However...this 4th Generation is HOT.

And after seeing this pic, I change my vote to 4th Generation with the facelift...so 4.5

Atleast show pics of the 97-99 Maxima...thats generation 4.5..with a facelift in the front and rear.
that's my favorite look. Plus its arguably one of Nissan's best interior (looks and feel and quality), atleast in the 99 GLE. I like it better than the interior in a 99 Camry XLE.

Yes- exactly. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif Should something ever happen to my Jetta and I need to get a cheap, reliable, good-condition used vehicle, I'd strongly consider a 4.5. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif That was the tip-top of the generations in my opinion, with the 5.5 being nice as well, but a bit quirky. The 6 is just, uh...

Re: (Isis187)

When I was 17, my mother had a 1994 Gen 3 Maxima SE 5spd. Pearl White on black leather. It was such a beautiful car, and got many second looks. I thought the reverse glow white faced guages were the coolest things I had ever saw. Then, one day as my mother was on her way to work, a truck blew a red light and my mother broadsided them. The maxima was deemed a total loss. This happened just 8 months after I had totaled her 96 Accord EX with 4K on it 500 feet from our house. She declared she would not buy another nice car till the kids were out of the house, becuase she had not been able to keep one, so she bought a new 96 Chevy Corsica that was pretty much stripped, save for just a few options, and she still has it to this day, 190K on it.
Generation 3 Maximas will always have a special place in my heart. Especially the SE's
