Hey guys,
Right now I'm looking at a '93 Corrado VR6 with 69000 miles. It needs a little work, like the sunroof is busted and will need to be replaced. The paint job is so-so, the radio doesn't work. And it is missing the passenger door handle. The guy wants $4300 for it which I don't think is too bad. What do you guys think?

have it inspected(under the hood) read the FAQ to find the common vr6 probs and then see if they have been solved already or if it is ready to go

you can shoot me an e-mail or IM and i can take a look. i am by no means an expert but i've had to deal with a ton of stuff with my corrado (maybe not with engine stuff as you're looking at a SLC). where is the one you're looking at? You hardly see any on this side of the mountains.

take it!!! if i could get a Corrado SLC for that price with only 69000 damn straight i would jump all over that! it's actually a deal don;t let anyone fool you as long as the head gasket isn't spitting fluids all over the place and the timing chains are in tact. if the head gasket is doin it's job and timing chains are there take it and run

hmm, a buddy of mine has offered me his slc with 100k, and a rebuilt title for 4k....

Have a mechanic check it out.

It's being sold below blue book value.
good condition 1993 SLCs run from aroun $6,500 to $8,500 with 100k miles
the guy that I bought mine from was selling it for what do you know $8,500 but after weeks of no takers he lowered it to $7,500. Then when I called and he remembered that I was the same guy who called when he was listing it for 8.5k he dropped it to 6.5k. I picked it up for $6,000 with 104kmiles on the odometer. Compression was the same in all cylinders http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

But... a couple months later the heater core blew (covered under recall, had to contact VWofA though) and what the mechanic diagnosed as a slowly leaking bearing on the side of my engine turned out to be the Head Gasket...well it's not busted because coolant isn't in the oil and oil isn't in the coolant and according to CCA some owners reported leaks after only 30,000 km!!!!!

So if the engine checks out buy it. The low price is to compensate for low demand from the general public http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
