so i have this on sqeek that i cant seem to get rid of...it only happens when it is humid outside and the motor is cold.....at first i thought it was the serpentine belt so i replaced it...and it still squeeks...i just replaced the belt tensioner and it still makes noise....could it be any of the other pullys or accessories making this annoying sound...?

Re: never ending squeek... (A3GTIVR6)

Is it a pulley squeak? If so, could be any of the accessory pulleys.
But the water pump squeaks / grinds when it begins to fail.

i cant really tell where it is coming from...i just know its somewhere near the tensioner...i need to take the intake out and try and narrow it down...i have no idea..

bump for having the same @(&@(*$@ problem. replaced the belt first of all when i got the car. replaced the tensioner assembly back in July. only occurs on a cold start. goes away after a good 1/2 hr of driving or so. super annoying.... took the belt off, spun the pullies individually, the power steering pulley makes a labored sort of noise, every other pulley seems fine. my guess is its the water pump or p/s pulley. btw....does your water pump pulley spin "freely?: cuz you almost have to push that thing along to get it to spin on my car, but no coolant/water leaks, and water temp is normal.

Have you replace the water pump, How many miles on your car ?

Re: never ending squeek... (A3GTIVR6)

stupid answer, but did you try to grease your tensioner when you replaced it? I had a noise like that and it went away after i greased the tensioner's pulley and put in a new belt.

Re: never ending squeek... (A3GTIVR6)

I'd take the tension off of the serpentine belt an spin each of the pulleys one at a time to see if one of them is rough and starting to seize up.
Aslo check if the water pump pulley is wobbling (even though it was just replaced). My car made this noise recently and it was the water pump going.
