I took these the other night. I made my girlriend drive so I could try out a few shots. Thank goodness she's cool like that.

thats cool stuff ... how are the wheels still and the lights moving? is it photo shopped?

This is how they were done:
I set the camera down on some foam on top of the ground.
Used my remote shutter release on my camera and turned the shutter open on the "bulb" setting. The camera's flash fired at that time.
I then used an external flash which I hand held and fired that soon after.
My girlfriend knew that after 2 flashes was her cue to turn on the lights and coast the car forward.
The shutter of the camera was open for a total of 13 secs.
Since cameras pick up the brightest light first, that is how you get the steams of light. It was too dark for the camera to pick up the car so that is why i hit it with the flash twice.
The second picture was done just the same but she put the car in reverse after the second flash. Total exposure time of that shot was 12 secs.

The best thing about night shots is that the car looks cleaner that what it really is. The front wheels are next to gunmetal looking because it's rained on the days that I can get a chance to wash the car.
