Im thinking on getting a 97 audi A4 1.8T quattro and wanted to know how reliable the car is as far as longterm use goes. I wanted to know how the engine handles after 100K

hey man, i just got mine exact model that your thinking of getting and i had it since oct. of last year and so far ive had to replace a control arm and a headlight washer, other then that its been pretty smooth. the thing i really like about the audis after driving around in VW's is that there so much tighter quieter ect its a very nice car i recommend it! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Make sure the previous owner has replaced the timing belt and front control arm suspension on any A4s after 100000km. The engine is bulletproof, so you should not worry about it.

Have you heard of any loud cracking noise when turning the wheels? If you heard that, that means one of your front control arm suspension is gone.

exactly, fortuntly they've came down in price since the problem started out, remember my dad had to pay like 600$ CDN for one
