Re: And you thought John Delorean was nuts... (vdubjb)

I'm pretty sure the Delorean in BTTF was a manual tranny though... I'm positive I remember seeing scenes where Marty was shifting...

You never will again in this accurate recreation of the DeLorean Time Machine made famous in the Back to the Future movie series. This recreation was painstakingly researched for nearly 5 years before construction.

Seems like a lot of years of research to miss a detail like that, but hell I could be wrong.
Edit> It's strange, I just noticed in the description text they mention it's a 5 speed but in the specs it says Automatic.

Must be a error in there somewhere.. so which is it?
Pictures look like a 5 speed... I guess it was just a mistake.

I'm pretty sure it was an auto. In the first one where he gets struck by lightning, you see him shift it into the low gear. Also, how could Doc drive it remotely unless it was an auto?

its a 5spd, he's always "shifting hard" to get to 88mph before the end of the road. The remote idea is good though. Maybe Doc got a tiptronic upgrade with the Mr. Fusion/hover... perhaps a popular package deal in 2020.

the car in the movie was a 5-speed. how can you remotely control an automatic? well if you can figure out time travel... you can sure figure out how to rig a few servos to three pedals and a shifter.

he made time travel possible you don't think that he can rig up a 5 speed for remote control.
