Uhhhh...yeah...call BS on that one. I called the dealership to ask them about the radio code for a car I am looking at and they said give them the VIN and proof of ownership and they will get me the code. No charge.
That sucks Aron!

Re: Antelope valley volkswagen are a bunch of #$%@$#%s (ImRollin)

the letter i just email them ............... To Whom it may concerm,
I came into the dealership today and was treated like 1. a criminal, 2 . like u didnt want my business again. Two years ago i bought a mk4 1.8t from u guys and im there every month buying parts for my cars ( i have 3 vws). I have never been treated bad until today . Ive asked and received for radio codes for my different cars 3 different times with out any trouble, when i went today the person at the desk said it was 30 mins to his lunch and he didnt have time to check for the codes ( last time it took 5 mins), i had the radio and the pink slip in my hand today. I showed them this and they said we cant do it without the car, i then pointed the car in the parking lot . He was trying to get out of doing his job. I undestand if its like 5 mins away from lunch time , no prob cool, ill come back , but shutting down 30 mins early so u can go to lunch on time is bull****!!, He also said before i pointed the car out in the lot " i wont do it without a car , what if its stolen ", i know u guys have policys there but to make your paying customers feel like they stole something is total crap. Last time i got the radio code i didnt have to pay anything they said they would have to charge me for giving me the code ( mind u i had the radio in hand , they wispered to each other a few times and came up with 35 or 40 dollares to get the code, there is no way im gonna pay that so i figured that id get the recall notices on my car and leave , so i asked, he again said it was too close to lunch so he coulndt do it . Ive started a thread on http://www.vwvortex.com on how i was treated {141718 users, 1250051 threads, 12448804 posts} this is how many people will see how your dealership treats thier paying customers many of the users are in socal , Im sorry it had to come to this but i guess this is the way it works, A call back from your manager will greatly helpful in your business with the tuner crowd of the av .

There are usually more than a few ways to reach resolution and obtain what you want. It has been my experience that an angry letter lends itself only to further distance yourself from what it is you want to accomplish. I would recommend remaining patient and polite at all times, most managers are more than willing to grant a concession to somebody who is reasonable, calm, and treats the manager with respect. If you still do not succeed, move to the next VW Dealership. If you still feel strongly about it, go higher up the management ladder. Nothing infuriates upper management more than learning that a perfectly rational and polite customer, with a reasonable request, was wronged by a pawn in the shop. Good luck mate, I hope this works out for you!

i also hope that wasnt the exact letter sent. It appears to be written by a 16 yr/old on AOL. The bashing part at the end wont help either.
Id take the advice of the others here....

You would be amazed at how a far real communication would get you. I know the GM and new head of internet sales and have gone there for service work before and they've done me right. They also gave me a car to drive when I didn't even buy my car their.

actually it was, it was written in haste and not spell checked

, anyways i dont intend on dealing with the local dealer anymore so all is well, just beware of them ........

Re: Antelope valley volkswagen are a bunch of #$%@$#%s (pineapplegti)

Sorry man, I agree with you up until you wrote that letter. You came across as a punk and the dealer won't feel they've lost a good customer. Diplomacy my friend!

Re: Antelope valley volkswagen are a bunch of #$%@$#%s (ImRollin)

i understand also why he is mad. i called the same dealer later asking the same question, a service advisor told me it would take an hour, and the charge would be $85
Image
WTF is that? i told him i doubt their hourly shop labor rate is even that much, he stammered and said "that's what we charge, i don't know what else to tell you."
i called transocean vw
Image
in pasadena, and they said it's a few minutes, but that i would be charged $50.
then i called livingston vw in woodland hills and they said "just bring the car in and we'll take car of it no charge, it only takes a few minutes."

Re: Antelope valley volkswagen are a bunch of #$%@$#%s (pineapplegti)

i don't understand why everybody doesn't agree with the letter. he wasn't asking them to work with him, that was pointless. it was just to let the manager know what was going on. we both spoke with them, and they just had a crappy "take it or leave it" attitude. when i worked at a vw dealer we did it for free, and it took 5 maybe 10 minutes tops. unless someone can tell me something changed, i have a real hard time believing that a simple radio code takes a minimum of an hour to retrieve.

Because when you file a complaint letter that you want people to take serious you use proper spelling, grammar and you don't use swear words.

AV Nissan/VW does suck major balls. They have treated me very poorly after I puchased from them. Please spend your money elsewhere if you are local to them.

No its because I know how to speak to people and not look ignorant. Don't worry its easy to get hman and hymen mixed up because you don't know what to do with either.
Don't worry why don't you just start another thread asking about it maybe someone will help you out.
