Okay, back to reality, cars are a money pit if you keep trading them in every few years, keep it as long as you can.

Re: getting ready to kiss my vw goodbye (GA_Golf)

Guess what happened this weekend with my car, I just replaced the MAF sensor and my check engine light came back on again!!!!!!!!
Damn these dumb arse german electrical systems. I love the way my car handles but the freakin' electrical issues I am starting to encounter is what is really driving me insane. I now have no other choice than to shoot the beast and put her out of my misery, oh I am sorry went on a tangent there I was thinking of my gf, lol.
Seriouly I guess it is time to head to Autozone and have them test it again and if they tell me that it is the MAF sensor again, I think I will blow my top!!!!!!!!GRRRRRRRR

Ok done venting, Any ideas on what may be causing this light to come on again?

how do you know if the maf sensor is bad my car is making like a humming noise around 40 mph do u think thats it?

I don't think that is the MAF, your check engine light will come on when the MAF goes and the diagnosis from Autozone should tell you this is bad. That humming noise could be almost anything but the MAF, it is only a sensor with no moving parts.
Find a good mechanic in you local area and have him look into that.
Good luck with getting that fixed..........if it is a problem. I have always found the best way to fix odd noises in a car is to turn the stero up

I am thinking of going to the Nissan Maxima, 2002/2003. I don't like the new body style nor the new car price. What are the opinions out there on my choice of car?

have you considered '05 Legacy GT 2.5T?

shopping carts will dent most cars. You need a saturn.
It really doesn't sound like you had many problems at all. MAF's are warrantied now, and you can be reimbursed with a reciept that you paid for one. I should know, I was paid back for the three I had to buy for my last VW.
I am skeptical about the radar detector causing an alternator failure because I have never had a problem, nor have most that have them.
I am not trying to piss you off, but the problem you had seem to be minor or not VW specific. I even like maximas, so if you do decide to go that route, that's cool too.
Good luck with whatever you choose to do.
Took the words from my mouth http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif except for a maxima I think they're sh!t, looks, preformance, a nice old persons car though
