LED lights like the ones on the chevy trailblazer will set off false laser warning.

Doesn't seem to set off my Escort 8500.

that's why some ppl dislike the V1 because it is a lot more sensitive.

I have the Escort Passport Solo 2 and it performs extremely well. Few false alarms on Auto settings and faultless detection at large distances...even over ridges and bends.
Since my Cobra malfunctioned and got me a "72 in a 40" ticket, I trashed it and got the Solo 2. The Escort 8500 and Solo 2 are both now rated the best by many car mags.
IMHO - The V1 has a cult following and is not as good as the mystique!

V1 is the only detector i've used on a regular basis so far.
i've been on my friend's car which has the passport hardwired.
i like it too, but it just dones' thave the arrows like the V1.
