Re: Add it too the list! (nerdhotrod)

Body work....Diagnosing (because are cars have so many different rattles...its hard to tell what is "supposed" to rattle)
Anything involving rubber that has to be stretched in some way.....(door seals, window seals, exhaust hangers)

Oh...I should be having a Techtonics Tuning exhaust coming too...but something went wrong with their bender and they ran a bad batch of the over-axel pieces apparently...so the exhaust I ordered a week ago...won't be here for another week.

Geting an full short shift kit to acutally hit first without going into reverse with only one person doing the job!
Re-installing a Tranny after a flywheeel and clutch upgrade while the motor is still in the car with one person!
Installing a 35lb supercharger and manifold on the back of a 1.8 8v (non x-flow,) motor with one person. (thank god for crowbar's!)

Changing the oil filter on a mk1 Cabriolet with P/S, A/C, and oil cooler.
The oil filter is so close to the frame, it's an hell of a job to get out and in ....

I maybe missing something but isn't the knob/shaft supposed to come out of the switch when you press the button on the bottom of the switch? I just reached through the speaker whole to get to the button.

front wheel bearings are a pain. not hard, just very time consuming.

I did one of these on my A2 with the Help of my Brother at his heavy equipment (Like Cranes, front end loaders etc,) shop.
We almost didn't get the Bearing out with a (I believe,) 30,000lb press! I let a machine shop remove and repress the other one when it came time to do it. 3 hours of fusteration or $30....Hmmm....that was a no brainer!

the damn screws that hold the rotor to the hub. Those bastards are especially fun when you have a rabbit that sat and rusted in a field for a few years.

I totally agree with you on this note!!! I ended up drilling through the screw itself to get it out when renewing discs and pads on my '75. don't think the disks had been changed in the last 10-15 years!!!

Did it in the end though

Trying to fugure out what the hell all those wires are that lead to NOTHING in the engine bay. It must have had a purpose! Or trying to figure out where the broken vaccum lines go in a '75, since a friend broke them and didnt label where they all came from. The stupid diagrams are different in every manual, still havent figured that last one out. That last bumper bolt on a diesel Rabbit with AC is a PITA too. And removing any un-oiled bolt on a NY car too

remove ALL the under-paint **** with a metallic brush to weld the body!!
Could someone post me some pics??
OH!, and figuring out what those nasty cables is also "fun", nearly as much fun as untighten the bolts that hold the steering column on a Mk2 when swapping to a Corrado dash......
