Just wondering what kind of trim/specs you guys are using and where you see boost (also, how much power are you making?). I've been told that I won't spool till 4-4.2k with a t3/t04E 50trim, .50a/r cold, .48a/r hot side with a stage 3 wheel. If it matters, I'll be running SDS.
Please advice.

I'd drop my 16v head, but I'd like to keep up with turboaba fair and square.

Thanks.

Re: 2.SLO guys with T3/T4's, please chime in. (LZ7J)

I have a T3 with the .42 or .43 ar trim, it's small but works great, I hint boost at like 2800-3000rpm, I am running 10psi. I am thinking with what I have done to the car I have some were close to 200hp, hopefuly.

When I had the T28 (.63a/r hot), I hit full boost (10psi) at 2400rpm and it made 184whp, 217lbs/tq. You're prob. sitting at 200hp. Get it dyno'd!

I'm more curious about the folks that are running the bigger turbos in this dinky motor.

Me too lets keep this post up. Here is some info from a 2.0T forgot who
Image
.
I beleive this was on a .63 stage 3/50 trim turbo
''boost first
3.5psi by 3300
6.7psi at 4200
6.7 psi all the way to 6950

power:
power start at 3100 about 90whp and makes a instant jump to 140ish by 4200 and still climbs to 5850 drops about 20hp at 6400 and falls of at 6950.
Torque is about the same curve but im at 147wtq by 4200 and climbs to 198 by 5300 and begins to fall. ''
I personally am going to stick with my ''small'' turbo for my everyday car and go T3/T4 for a race car. Its really just where you want your powerband and how much power you want. BUMP

I use a .63(which i recomend over a .48)/50.I get full boost by 3500rpm(15lbs).Its stock compression and still motronic.I made 214whp and 224wtq.There was more in this set up,but now it looks like I'm going to do a 16v aba.

Are you still using the Split second software Chuck?

Are you running an 'E' housing? Is there a significant difference between 'E' and 'B'?
I thought the .48a/r hotside would be better for quicker spool up?!?

Re: 2.SLO guys with T3/T4's, please chime in. (skillton)

well I have a t3/t4 50/.48 (our turbos look a bit different) and i see 5 psi by 3000 rpm and max boost is like 4500 rpm the turbo is a good match for the car . My only complaint is it hits the fire wall so i might go with a t3 super60 for sanity reasons
Image
but I will keep it if i can get the fire wall sorted
Image
pulls all the way to 7000 rpm
ohh and as far as a t3/t4 in a 2.o well here is my thought......

Re: 2.SLO guys with T3/T4's, please chime in. (EvilVento2.oT)

i have a t3t4 50,63 stage 3 wheel. Some say its to big i love it i can drive around all day and never hit boost, but if i want all i have to do is drop the hammer down a gear or just lay into it. It really doesnt matter.
I see 3psi at 3000
6psi at 3500
13psi at 4000
all the way to redline.

Power............well i pulled 193whp on 6.5psi

Thanks.

It shouldn't be very hard to keep up with someone that doesn't have a tranny! You can walk faster then I can push the car!

Re: 2.SLO guys with T3/T4's, please chime in. (TurboABA)

The first turbo i had was a t3/4e 57/63, and i loved it, i would not go any smaller unless you dont wantt o run too much boost, but i was runnign like 15-17 daily, wasnt too lagy either. I then switched to a t3/4 60-1, exact specs arent available, i didnt see full boost till late but it pulled like a mother and made me the power right where i wanted it. Basically it depends on what youre lookin for!!!

Ryan will have that spooling with the SDS. Don't worry Nikko, it will be ok.

I tuned a car with that exact turbo (T3 stage 3 .48 T4E 50 trim) , I will have to fire up the laptop to get the boost vs rpms.
Todds T3/4 setup had a stage 2 wheel if I remember, that setup worked really really well

256 whp=2.slow I dont think so
