Hi there,
Today was my day off and since my GF had to go to work in the afternoon, I decided that it is the perfect opportunity to perform the Joye mod. I was bit skeptical in the beginning but I love the way it turned out...
I want to make one important comment! WHATEVER YOU DO, BE VERY CAREFULL HOW YOU MASK! I used Glad's "Press And Seal Wrap". It was an excellent choice. I used the wrap instead of regular masking tape because I was afraid that it would peel off the silver paint on the reflectors..
Next project will be a new grill from Cullen!
So without further due:

the paint looks good, but your lenses look foggy.

Yeaah, I know. The lenses are turning yellow and are beginning to brittle. I meed to polish the lenses. The car is a 99.5 so it is normal...

Thank you all for the thumbs up! I will be polishing the lenses pretty soon. I hate it myself!

The headlamps are sealed pretty good! They are not foggy! They are simply yellowing on the outside...

I've got a 99.5 also and my lenses are starting to look like crap. Any good way to buff them out or is it hopeless?

Looks good except the fog, I had the same problem when I did my joey mod, but some sealant fixed it right up. I'm tryen to get that badgeless grill from cullen too. I have the money just sitting around for it.

outta curiousity, what kind of sealent did you use, and how? god forbid i decide to do this, i wnana at least have a backup plan

Walmart is where I got the Glad Press And Seal Wrap. The actual sealant between the lens and the housing is $1.99 tube of outdoor silicone. It is not water soluble and it does not burn out from heat and ultra violet light!
Total cost of the mod was around $7.00 including the paint, the wrap and the silicone!

As for the yellowish lenses, I think I will try to get it polished with Mother's Plastic Polish. I heard good reviews on it. If not, I will try these little machines they sell in Walmart that let you restore scratched CDs.
