Re: custom supercharger kit??? (jsalvato)

is procharger a DP supercharger? if so good luck, just cause its a "UNIVERSAL" kit doesnt mean oh it will fit any car. theres always space confines, engine dimensions, intake manifold design and placement, all kinds of crap.
i really think your underestimating what your gettin yourself into, i have NEVER seen a DP VR6 and i know about 30-40 people with SC'd VR's
oh and what you said about brackets, its a lot harder to make a bracket that will be strong yet the PERFECT dimensions to align and balance a charger, hope you have a CNC machine or a really good understanding of bracketry. if i remember correctly VF doesnt even make their own brackets i think they have them custom made for them out of house.
so good luck, keep us all posted and hopefully you get good/reliable power for cheaper then 4k$ cause other wise your wasting your time and money.
I think its always cheaper and easier to buy a kit then customize it from there, like what C2 does all they do is add on crap to other companies chargers to make more power, thats simpler to do on your own then it is to do a whole kit on your own http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: custom supercharger kit??? (2002gtibluvr6)

I will definately keep everyone posted with this project. As far as the bracketry goes, I've been racing a Mustang for the past 5 years for the NMRA (National Mustang Racing Orgainization) in a class called EFI Renegade which is sponsored by ProCharger and who is also a sponsor of my car. So I understand what it takes when it comes to designing a bracket for strength, durability and most importnt belt alignment.
I'll put up photos when it's done.

I have two questions for you...1) What kind of crack are you smokin? and 2) Where do you get it? Because at http://www.c2motorsports.net I don't see anything about a "procharger" or a fmic. They use the vortech centrifigual blower with no ic.

Sorry to confuse you. My crack is domestic and it really screws me up sometimes.

However, what I was referring to when I mentioned the Pro Charger, was to the 2.0 slo. They make a kit for that with the pro charger. They don't have it on there website. I remember reading that on a magazine. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif Also, what I was trying to imply is , if they can make one for the 2.0 slo, can they make one for the 24V?

Re: custom supercharger kit??? (Spidee)

The company that used to distribute the ProCharger kits was called CFI Motorsports located in Dover, NJ but they are no longer in business. The kit that I have for my 2.0L is the C1 which is a universal kit. They are mostly found on the Honda's. The only thing that will have to be done for the 24V cars is bracketry. Everything else you can get from Procharger. ProCharger will make a FMIC and supply you with the 2.5" piping which has to fabicated for the supercharger application. Hopefully I'll have that all fabricated and mrket it.
The other thing that I've noticed is that the washer fluid tank will have to be relocated to the passenger side which isn't a big deal and either run a tiny dynabatt battery or move it to the trunk.

Sorry, I'm really bad with names.
