Hey everyone,
I've been lurkingn around the forum for a while and everyone here seems pretty knowlegable. Does anyone know of a good service department in the Houston Area?
I've had my Touareg for just over a month and a half now, with minor annoyances.

I'm about ready for the 5k maintenance and want to get some items taken care of while I'm there:
windshield condensation
foglamp condensation on passenger side
clock runs fast and I have to change it every week
sometimes the a/c doesn't seem cool enough
slightly pulls to the right
Any advice or words of wisdom?
Image

Also, does installing a Bluetooth car kit or XM void any warranties?

Thanks,
Paul

Do a archived, post body search in the Touareg forum on the word Houston and you will find info on Houston dealers.
As long as you install the Bluetooth and XM correctly, you would not void any warranty. Short circuit wires or screw something up and your dealer may make you pay for repairs. The radios are designed to have phone kits installed to them. The nav is designed to have two auxiliaries connected. With the standard radio you have to use the Blitzsafe adapter and I suppose if it was defective and caused some harm to the radio, the dealer might not warranty the radio.

No. It would only affect the warranty if the installation actually broke something (e.g., you mucked up the wiring while installing and the radio died - obviously you couldn't claim the dead radio on warranty - at least not honestly

).

Thanks,

Welcome to the Touareg forum on the 'tex! Make sure to scan through the FAQ, if you haven't already.

That would be my choice in the Houston area! I have 2 VW's that I get serviced there!(if not I'd probably get fired!)

I suspect you are biased.

I'm sure the employee discount has nothing to do with this decision. Not to mention the fact that your techs probably take extra-special care working on the 'bosses' car!

Well, since you said so, I'll blame you if anything goes wrong!

I did a search and West Houston VW came up a couple times, so I take it that's a good place for service.
Hopefully, I can get everything resolved.

Re: Good Service? (4x4s)

They try to take care of me and our customers - but several people have stated that stealership techs are not even techs, they are monkeys! That caused quite a stir on here about a year ago, and continues to come up about how incompetant the VW dealerships are.
We try to fix the cars the best we know how to, and we do have the most up to date tools and official information from VW - even though Spock and some of you help me out with info before I get it from VW!

To whom at VW should I send my invoice?

No kidding, there is a ton of info on these forums. It's comforting to have a resource like this. Especially, when reading about some peoples' horror stories at service departments.
