im going to be putting on a 2.9 manifold clone that has been port matched to the lower manifold, mk4 hg, schrick 268 cams and hd valve springs real soon.
im running a gaic chip, turn2 cai, and cat back magnaflow.
would/will i need a 4 bar fpr to fuel the motor or should the stock unit be reliable enough to give me the amount of fuel needed?
anyone have an idea as to what kind of power it will make?
any suggestions/comments welcome and appreciated.

Re: getting some work done - need opinions (burgundyvr6)

ill keep you in mind about the fpr - thanks
about the manifold. yes, it is nice. but the 2.9 clone work will be done by myself, so no money is really involved.
mainly just time and some knowledge.
i may not be doing the mk4 hg until i grab a bvh.
any other suggestions for all motor power besides more displacement.

on a side note, you may not be able to run a mk4 hg w/bvh+268s.. not 100% sure, but it would be something to check out about..

You should be able to run that setup with no trouble. The ONLY time a Mk4 headgasket shouldn't be used is with forged pistons that aren't specifically spec'd for that gasket.

yeah, that's what it was.. my bad.. i believe oe 2.9 pistons w/268s causes problems with the mk4 hg as well..

Do you have a diff? Lightened flywheel, clutch?

will get those once the timing chains get done. not going to drop the trans twice. 90k on the motor, and no noise yet.
