Just bought my S4!! Now what mods have the best performance!!???

So far... after speaking to a few local owners... I've found that the X-chip, Borla Exhaust and Bilstein shocks/struts are the best and most important mods...
I know that chipping is VERY essential to maximize the car's capabilities... but which chip is best!?? I hear that this x-chip when tuned, and borla exhaust alone... will get the car to 350hp...

Is that true!?
If not... what is better... which exhaust does everyone prefer? I don't want the car to sound like a fart-can civic... but I would like to hear a nice note when accelerating (but not hear it when cruising- gets old after a while!

Also... which air intake gets the most bang for the buck???
I know... a lot of rookie questions... and I'm sure there are posts like this weekly... but I'll appreciate fresh advice (as opposed to the usual "use the search function"

You have an A-Box S4, because I'm assuming you didn't buy a Tiptronic.
I suggest you replace the F-hose, the TBB and the BPVs before doing any of your other performance modifications. Get yourself a boost gauge if there isn't one already in the car. Drive your car stock and feel how boost builds up and back up after shifting.
Then add the chip. Then do the exhaust.
For your particular ECU, people will argue that the GIAC X produces the most power and it does so by creating the most boost. That's why I'm recommending those other parts be replaced before you start upping the power.

thanks! I've gotten similar advice as to the importance... but have not really had it suggested in that fashion... I appreciate the advice!

I can attest to Avalon being a place you want to call and get stuff from. Supportive of the S4 community, actual S4 owner, proven competitive built cars and they know what they are doing.
