What's up people. I'm a current Audi guy and i'm planning on getting my hands on an R32 soon. I have heard about the HPA turbo stuff and also about the VF engineering blower. I was hoping for some thoughts as to what this car is like on both. So if anybody with either one give me some thoughts. I know VF has a package for about 4 grand and includes a stage 1 chip and intercooler. and they just got a stage 2 for another grand or something close to it.

No IC on the stage I.

No other upgrades are necessary, which is what makes the VF kit so attractive IMO. The HPA Bi-Turbo .:R32 is in a league of its' own. Stg1 starts around 10k and Stg2 costs in upwards of 30k. Please note that the price does not include some of the extra upgrades HPA recommends...For instance HPA recommends about another 8k in upgrades/accesories to the 30k Stg2 kit.
If you can afford it, I would do it. Do a search on it, you will find more then enough information on it. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: New R32 (verustung)

10K... That's a bit too steep for me, but that VF stage 2 would be perfect if there is nothing I will need to add to have it work right. But I always wanted a nice exhaust, so I was thinking about Remus.

With the flapper mod you gain power and awsome sound.

Search for flapper mod. You'll be busy for hours with the results.

Have you done the flapper mod?.. How loud is it when you drive on highway?... I really dont like loud exhaust sounds from so called performance mufflers... 'universal mufflers'... just too noisy to me.
And also, can you bend it back to its original place if you dont like the sound?.. would it break the part?

That 6 grand stage 2 sounds like a great deal. But would I need to change anything else? Cluth? Flywheel? Maybe a better exhaust? I'm asking because I have never tuned a car before.

Nice, no car yet and you already have an additional $6K in mods planned. Sweet!

The flapper mod isn't any louder on the highway, what it does is open up the sound on the lower end (ie below 45mph/3000 rpm)
the flapper is actuated by a Vacuum hose, at the aforementioned 45 mph/3000 rpm a vacuum causes the flap to open letting you hear the full sound of the exhaust. its as simple as disconnecting that hose and plugging the hole, pinching the hose or you can go to the extent of a three way switch ( off/normal/on , which several Vortexers have done)
I've used a one way fish tank valve which seems to work fine..

reversing the direction causes a flapper that is closed all the time= reduceds noise.
