Just wanted to know if anyone out there has ran a 3 1/2" DP or has even seen one? What kind of power gains or loses have you seen? I really wanted to know if this is a good idea or not? Let me know what you think. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif ?

Not so true on a turbo engine... no exhaust is the best exhaust, that is why so many people run with dump tubes. The only problems you might run into are the cat efficency codes and fitment. If it fits and you can ignore the CEL then you are golden.

Do you really think that having no exhaust and having a large exhaust is the same thing? It is possible to have an exhaut that is too big. By getting an exhaust that is too big you will run into problems getting the gasses out of it . Think of it this way. Say you have a few straws in different sizes. You take a small one and blow into it. You will need to blow pretty hard to get air out of it. Then you take a medium sized one and blow into it. Air is allowed to escape much quicker. Then you blow into the large one. Sure a lot of air is getting out, but you need to blow harder to get that air out.
I think 3.5" is way too big, especially for the stock turbo. 2.5" is perfect for the K03.

yeah, wrx's also have a 'muffler' before their turbo (up-pipe)... wanna toss one of those on too?
im sure if he running a 4" dp on his wrx, then there will be no cat in the up-pipe, and hopefully a bigger than stock turbo(no vf series period). Im still not saying a 4" is at all needed though.
