Learning the art of chop-suggestions?

Hi all,
I'm learnin how to chop, and want to help my fellow vortexers, but after months of dinkin around with PS 6 I can't figure out how to do a lot of stuff... anyone have suggestions? I know this is kindof off the normal Veedub topic, but I promise my newfound skills will benefit the vortexers here

http://www.designsbymark.com/pstips/index.shtml, or I believe that Adobe also has some turtorials on PS on their site.
