I just bought a Forge 007 and I read some posts where people are talking about reversing the DV. Does that mean switch thoes two bigger hoses??? What does that actually mean???

The "cool" sound produced by reversing the DV is the sound of compressor surge. This happens when the pressurized air bounces off the closed throttle plate and travels back to the turbo. This wave of air collides with the still-rotating turbo and stops it. The DV normally vents this air back into the inlet of the turbo to keep it spinning and reduce lag for the next time you open the throttle. When the DV is installed backwards it does not allow all the pressurized air to escape. Compressor surge is hard on the turbo bearings. It will not make your turbo fail next week, but it will shorten the life to some degree. I would not do it to my car. |

Because they SELL car parts. they do not make money if your existing parts work perfectly for long periods of time. Mostly, though, they give the customer what they (think they) want. So, hey, you want hamster-bawl between every shift, run it backwards. You want good performance and long life, run it like the friggin engineers designed it to be run. ![]() |
