My window went back down...the end is near

So i go to put up my front passenger window, press the auto-up button, and it goes halfway up, then drops back down. I thought i was screwed, but when i used short bursts and not the auto-up, it went up.
so is this a problem with the auto-up feature, or is my regulator just on its last leg?

Regulator is starting to go; avoid using it untll it's replaced.
