Is anyone else's right thigh getting crunched by their Recaros? I'm 6'0", which I would guess falls in the 'normal' range, but I have a helluva time finding a comfortable position in this seat. The right side lower bolster seems to have a metal bar in it that constantly digs into my leg. If I back the seat up enough so that my legs are straight, I can barely reach the fully-extended wheel. If I move the seat up so that my arms are in an extended but comfortable position, my right knee is actually touching the key (and my right thigh is digging into that bar...).
I know it seems picky...but 30 minutes of straight driving has become downright painful.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has dealt w/ this too. Is there any way to lower / remove that internal metal bracing, or is that a fixed part of the seat frame?

My seat squeeks, anyone else have that? Im 6' 2" and my lower back hurts some times but never my thigh, my left leg used to hurt and it was haha my wallet. If you keep your wallet in your back pocket you might be leaning on it or something and that could make a difference..it did for me.

Re: GLI Recaro Problems? (IwannaGTI79)

Damn, I was gonna sugest lowering it too... but I guess that's not the prob.

I'm 6' 2" and have no problems once I am seated... it's a little hard to get in (I sit kinda close for my hight) but once I'm in I'm very comfortable. Maybe your lambard support is too high and it's pushing you forward?

Just a guess... might try messing with it.
For me the seats were a big selling point of the car cause they were so comfy and bucketish!

That sucks your having problems.

Re: GLI Recaro Problems? (Usagisama)

The seat back has to be all the way straight up and down for me to be comfortable. ALso the seat is all the way down and all the way back and the steering wheel is pretty far out (towards me). Basically pull everything back as far as it will go then put the seat back straight up.

I'm 6'6", 220lbs and I'm shocked at how well I fit in the wife's GLI. Seat all the way down and back, reclined just a tad, steering wheel all the way toward me and down a bit and I'm golden. Very comfy.
My only gripe with the car is that the tach is on the left. With my left hand in the middle of the wheel I can't see the tach. Grrr.

I am 6'2, 220 lbs and I don't have a problem except for the fact that the I am also having the problem with my seat squeeking. Its really annoying sometimes, but its damn comfortable!

I'm 6'1" and 200lbs. I was having a problem with pain in my right leg as well, but I figured out it was my wallet, coupled with the sizeable bolster that were cutting off my circulation. It took me a little while to find the optimal position too, my knee hits the key if I'm too close, and as a personal preference I hate being really far away from the steering wheel. Keep fiddling with it, you'll find the right setting. I love my Recaro's!
