greetings - i'm a complete novice re: engines, so please bear with me.
highway driving this morning i notice the car wanting to go faster than whatever gear i placed it in - pretty much driving itself in terms of forward motion. had to brake to slow down to a reasonable speed (in a snowstorm, no less), downshifting didn't help, maintained high RPM regardless of gear, when clutching the engine revved even higher.
pulled off to the shoulder and turned car off. restarted and immediately the engine revved way high, essentially bucking forward when i put it in first gear. turned off engine and left it off for about ten minutes, then it was fine and i drove another 40 minutes without incident.
just had a full tune-up/oil change/new plugs & brakes & strut mounts & fan belt & timing belt ... any ideas about this frisky behavior?
thanks a lot.

Sounds like somethnig in the throttle is getting stuck. Does the gas pedal come all the way back up? Is it overly easy to push?

i didn't notice any change in the gas pedal action, no - it returns all the way and isn't overly easy to push. thanks for asking ...
