do they fry the harness often?

Honestly, I haven't heard of a case yet but I know the potential is there. I don't have much more knowledge than that, but I think the odds are slim to none.

I thought that LEDs are cool (or cooler) to the touch?

doesn't an LED draw significantly less current than an incadescent bulb? How is there the potential to fry a harness?
In any case, I personally have never had an issue with LED city lights, and I've used them both on the .:R and on my 337. Congrats on the new car- you'll love it. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I should used the word damage instead of fry. I just remember reading somewhere that if you get LED bulbs that you should make sure it is still compatible with the current it receives. I don't think its anything to worry about, as everyone here has said they have never seen a damaged wiring harness caused by an LED installation.
