Just a quick survey here... from a marketing standpoint. How many of you Phaeton owners are willing to purchase a custom dedicated designed Phaeton emblem from VW AG?
And how much are you willing to pay for it?
Assuming the emblem is ultra high quality and made to the same aesthetic standard as the Olympic medals.

Re: New Phaeton emblem poll: (apeters)

Don't know if anyone has considered this but for the front emblem you could get one of those Eurpoean touring badges that grab on to the grill...you see them all over Europe on the older cars especially. Certainly something like that would work to just put over the front emblem....the rear one and the tires are another thing.....this is all assuming that you don't want the VW name....how about replacing it with a Bentley emblem....anyone got a connection??

Agreed! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif It fits....although a really cool badge for the Phaeton would be nice too- something like a pair of very stylized horses in a circle to represent the phaeton of old. I do not mind the VW badge at all, but a different badge unique to this unique car if done well could be very nice... http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif I have a funny suspicion it would not hurt sales either

Here in Stalinist Britatain, in London anything that denotes quality and self reliance will get keyed ( scratched by keys/sharp objects) which cost 1000's for a paint job.The politics of envy is alive and well here, the understated VW is good for me. I can now leave the the car safely and its just another VW.

What he said. I bought the car because it's low-key.
To be honest, I can't see why anyone would buy a VW with the intention of molesting it - if you want people to know where you're at, why not buy a 7?

Re: New Phaeton emblem poll: (ThwartedEfforts)

I had a 7 before amongst others and that they were nearly always keyed or dents put in the door or busted wing mirrors. You must know that this is a common occurrence.Where as over the last 9 months no indication of a problem, yet!

I agree with the last posters. Because it was a VW badge on it helped when deciding what car i wanted to buy. Had Bmw and MB before and i got tired of it. I´m 22 years old and driving a Bmw or a MB did attracted attension that i didn´t want. So the VW badge is perfect for a car like this.

Re: (Soki)

Absolutely! The undesirable attention of MB is why I changed brands , not to mention the lower quality that MB has trickled into their cars since marrying Chrysler. However, the eyes are looking at the Phaeton more than a Benz but I think it is a more "thumbs up" kind of attention. People come to me and say, "Dont tell me you sold that Mercedes?" , then they look at the Phaeton and forget all about the Benz.
