I have a 2004 GTi 1.8t
This is what I am aiming for my coilovers KW V2 and Koni...(this may sound stupid but I couldn't find the part number for it) but here is the website that sells it http://www.performance-cafe.co...d=698
I have heard many great things about KW and I know its good but after learning that the KW V2 uses Koni shocks that made me search more for Koni Coilovers. I got some question...

1.Has anyone bought parts from http://www.performance-cafe.com? are they reputable?
2. This is to people who has Koni: I really don't care about ride heights and stuff like that, I will be tracking soon I would like to know how does koni adjust the compression and rebound? (I could not find any information on Koni's website! <- very odd I have to say)
3. People with this same exact Koni Coilovers could you guys give me some feebacks on them? Also people with KW V2 convince me to pay 1600 for it!! hahahah
Thank you all for taking your time reading this and responding!!

Re: KW or Koni Coilovers($973 to good to be true?) Compression and rebound (genxco)

If you're asking how do you adjust the dampening on the Koni Coilovers, then this is how:
On the fronts, Koni supplies a plastic knob that you put over the top of the strut and turn it left or right in 'clicks' to to adjust the dampening.
On the rears, the shocks have to be removed from the car, and you "push down and turn" the lower half of the shock to adjust the dampening.
The springs are lowered/raised from beneath the car for both the fronts and rears.
Koni coils are awesome -- they use some H&R parts just so you know.

Thank you very much on your input...another question just popped up how many adjustable? like how many clicks are there? Did you get the same one on the link?
oh yeah! if you do.... have you tried the softest setting? hehe the reason I am asking this is because sometimes I need to drive my Mom and I don't want her to feel uncomfortable.
You said the lowering is from the bottom? is it also a knob thing that you have to twist?

Thanks

To lower/raise the car, you have to lift the car off the ground. The Koni's come with a large open-ended wrench that attaches to "the locking nut." Once that is loosened, you can raise/lower the spring adjusters with the correct socketed wrench.
I've never had it on the softest setting, but the 'medium' setting that it comes set at from the factory is really comfortable. It's not bouncy or anything, but firm. It really reminds me of my 1998 M3 stock suspension -- which was a great suspension -- no body roll but also a stiff-yet-comfortable ride.
Hope this helps. I'm not sure how many clicks there are, but I'm thinking it is soft, medium, and stiff. My car is at the dealership right now -- once I get it back I will check it out and let you know. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
