Ive started doing the hardest part.... saving... Anyway, my question is, where can I get a complete motor setup? Any trusted places online? Or should I just hunt for a shop locally? Anyone know a place in California? I don't even know how much they go for. All I know is just to start saving. Any help would be apprecaited. Thanks.

Check your Local laws first regarding engine swaps
instead of buying online I'd suggest looking for a local wrecked VW with a 1.8T then you have all the Bits you need to complete the Swap with out having to Source missing bits form just an engine.
If you want just an engine I'd suggest getting a stand alone systems as well and forget the OEM harness
