My interior light swap

So i finally got all my parts in the mail to start this project, this is stage one, ill get pics up of the radio and gauges when they are finished.. i found a technique to change the lightswitch to blue

ill get some pics of that up when it's all finished

sorry for the blurry pic but it was cold as balls and i had been in the garage for quite a while at that point

why is it so bright? i was thinking of doing this soon. what leds did you use? where did did you get them?

3mm ebay led's with 470 ohm resistors, they are bright, however that's what i wanted, so i'm happy being blind!
the part behind the AC knobs was somewhat of a custom job, just rigged up a gang of leds on a frame and put them back there

Ive also been thinking about doing this, but i want to change them to red so it looks more like the MKIV interior

Thanks for the comments, she's not done yet, going with red LCD's on the radio and gauges and blue everywhere else.. just finished the light switch and since i have an automatic

my PRND123 is all blue too next to the shifter
there's a few DIY's search for "LED" in the archives under mk3 forum

oh and so far i have about 4 hours of work put into it spread out over a few days lol

Jesus, don't buy these conversion kits. All it takes is $10 form Vishay electonics and about 3 hours, and you'll have any color you want.......... http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

sorry if i was unclear, but that ebay link is just for LEDs and resistors, everything i did was by hand
