Re: is digi 2 and a turbo possible (EvilVento2.oT)

I have a digi 2 with the EIC from Racetech (SDS guys) and it works well. I run an ABA with a 4K tranny (I know I need a longer ratio tranny) and a K24 from the turbo diesel. I took two seconds off my previous best in the quarter mile at 8psi but still ran a 16.01. The EIC needs to be adjusted with the weather changing hotter or colder but it is very easy and simple to do. We are at 2200ft elev. here too by the way. I also want to mention that I still get 550kms/350miles per tank. I am thinking of going to the Megasquirt system now to clean up the engine bay and simplify things even more. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

SDS isn't a chip, its an additional (extra) injector controller, to control between 1 and 4 extra injectors that run while under boost. This allows you to keep a good idle and still have plenty of fuel while boosting but requires somewhere to add the extra injector, either one or 2 at the throttle body or 4, one more on each runner.
The FMU may work under low boost, but I'm not sure how well. Techtonics was making chips for Digi 2, but I don't think Collin will make them anymore for turbo unless you bring your car their for him to tune. SNS mostly only does Digi 1 but I have heard they may be moving into doing some digi 2 tuning chips. Another good option would be to get a generic chip made with less timing and smaller injector pulses, then add on a piggyback like SMT6 or 7 with some larger injectors and dial it in yourself. The SMT6 could even replace your MAF with a nice MAP sensor allowing precise tuning with higher resolution under boost, while removing your restrictive MAF and allowing you to blow off extra boost.

The EIC that SDS offers controls either two or four injectors--no more, no less, and nothing in-between. It seems like a good unit and an excellent alternative to going all the way to stand-alone. It allows you to keep your car's factory drivability--or at least as much of it that you have off-boost. I have had an SDS ECU before, and, like many others, will vouch for their quality and service.

anyone know of a better write up for the conversion? This one's a little confusing
"Pin # 21 needs to be moved to #5 on the plug The wire that is in pin #5 gets soldered to pin #7 wire......Pin#21 gets swapped to pin#20 on the plug"
