i was thinking about doing this to make it a true 2 door, but i think it would look unbalanced. anyone ever heard of this or seen it?

eddie, i refer to everyone under 40 as a kid, never ca;;ed you poor, and always liked your car. although it looks better with the lexan or plexi whatever it is rear windows instead of the stock jetta rear windows.

no offense taken, i feel old now, 30 hit me hard!!!!!!
and the origianl poster said it was the poor man's way of doing it, he obviously does not know what type of body work goes into something like this...seeing how it is a unibody and i launch at 6500 rpm's with 9" wide slicks, lil bit of chassis flex, yet no cracks or anything...

I rather have the rear doors its easier to get stuff out the back. I never let people sit in the back of my jetta unless its emergency so it basically a 2 seater lol.
I wouldnt weld up the doors like that kinda cheap. And god forbid your window regulator goes or the motor. The door card would be hard to get off first of all if it was closed.

if you have a gti you only have front windows-- why would coupes get to be any different? besides eddie's car is strictly a drag car now, i really don't think any of the original window stuff is still there
