All of those cars (save the polo) look hot without mods of any sort. In all actuality, the more money you spend on cosmetic mods to a Corrado (in my opinion) the worse it'll look in the end.

i was thinking along the lines of pulled fenders, wide wheels, a good lowering, some deleting of body lines, audi handles, good paint, and some nice engine work... i don't think that much would need to be done with the others (unless someone rolled a 997, in which case the world would need to look out for that weird square bathtub leaving McFly-style flaming burnouts on the parkways of the south...

I hear ya Jim,
My first dub was a rado back in 94'. I had a 92' SLC. It's a total love/hate relationship

I hated all the gremlins, but then I look at my buddy Brian's car and
fall in love all over again

i think i'd get a scirocco before i got a corrado.

Yes, very nice choice either a 16V or G60. But I have to admit there has always been a place in my heart for a Corrado, but I could never afford one. To find a low mileage well maintained Corrado is never cheap. Then once you own one whether G60 or VR6, maintenance is not cheap either which makes it hard to justify dumping soo much money into a 10-15 year old car. However the fact they were made in Wolfsburg (Superior build quality equal to most Mercedes), Very rigid chassis, Both G60 and VR are very tunable mills, cool unique look and lets not forget the Porsche inspired lifting spoiler (My favourite).

Re: it's only a matter of time... (punkassjim)

I am still not sure what my next project will be when I can add another car and have some garage space for it. I am in a toss up because I used to own an 88 Scirocco 16V. I didn't think that much of it at first, but over the years it really grew on me and that weight savings is amazing. Besides a 16VT running on Megasquirt is relatively cheap and can easily produce 300 HP for a car that is not a daily driver.
My next project will be either a Scirocco II or a Corrado. It all depends on what I find around. The key is starting with the right car.

...someday, I WILL own a Corrado. It's just inevitable. I'm curious to know how many mk3'ers also know this about themselves.
Saw this downtown yesterday...

you probably will, and then you will probably sell it shortly after.

I still haven't even dreamed of selling my mk3...I'd say if I can build a reliable Corrado, I'll never want to sell it. And I'd say it's definitely the only VW that would make me forget about my mk3.
