Re: JOM Grill Fitment Issues...and some pic whoring (gti303)

I read in a couple of posts people have had the same problem as me, where the middle gap between the grill and the bumper are ok, but it starts to get larger as you go towards the ends...has anyone figured it out? no resolutions were posted...

Re: (gti303)

Is the bottom screw/bolt from your headlight blocking those end clips from snapping into that hole near the middle of the headlight bottom?
That would explain the upward bowing.
If you have two people and you install one side, then the middle prongs and the other end, it snaps in fine.
Just installed my JOM grill two days ago:

Re: (jtdunc)

i have or had this same problem with my grill as well. what i ended up doing was using a piece of twine to loop it through and tie it down tight. then just trim up the twine (or zip ties) and you're all set. and no you didnt see any of the twine showing through the front end or anything

How to get the JOM grill off - for headlight adjustments?

I have to raise my mounting brackets for my DEPO headlights.
So the JOM grill has to be taken off.
The vendor tells me the easist way is to take the bottom metal strip off first.
Then the plastic frame of the grill easily snaps in.
He told me that I can remove the metal strip by getting a thin flat headed screwdriver behind the bottom inside of the rounded part of the grill and gently push up. The other retaining clips should easily release the metal strip.
Has anyone done that before?

the first time around a put the 2 pieces together wrong and got the same issue u're experiencing.. u might want to reassemble the grill and make sure everything is snapped together tightly and all the tabs are perfectly in place... u can use your stock grill as a reference since they go together exactly the same
